Massage Techniques Practiced at the Wellness Center of Plymouth

Our massage therapists are trained in a variety of massage techniques.  Here’s a description of each:

Chair Massage – Compression and trigger point focused massage to relieve specific areas of pain and tension, performed with clients fully clothed

Cranialsacral Therapy – Light touch therapy to free connective tissue restrictions and restore balance to the cranium, spine, and sacrum; performed with the client fully clothed.

Couple’s Relaxation Massage – Light to moderate pressure relaxation massage to reduce stress and tension in the entire body; for two.

Headache Relief Therapy – A combination of specific therapies, including massage and trigger point therapy, to break headache patterns.

Hot Stone Therapy – Massage combined with warm stone to promote deeper relaxation and tension release.

Maternity / Pre-Natal Massage – Light to moderate pressure relaxation massage to meet the needs of mothers-to-be.

Myofascial Release – Slow, sustained pressure of varying levels to reduce pain and tension by  releasing restrictions in facial tissue; can be performed with client fully clothed.

Orthopedic Massage – A combination of various advanced techniques focused on specific comprised joins and the lymphatic system; restores proper posture, function & balance

Oncology A relaxing and nurturing massage that helps reduce pain and nausea, increases lymphatic circulation, decreases inflmmation and edema, and promotes endorphin release that helps override pain signals.

Rain Drop Therapy – An essential oil massage technique based on Lakota Native healing where powerful, antibacterial, antiviral oils are applied along the spine.

Reflexology – Specific pressure points and massage to the feet and / or hands to stimulate health throughout the entire body; can be performed with client fully clothed.

Reiki – Japanese light touch energy therapy to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and encourage healing on all levels of being; can be performed fully clothed.

Sinus Relief Therapy – Specific massage and trigger point therapy on the face, neck, and chest with White Flower Sinus Oil to clear congestion and improve lymph flow.

Swedish Relaxation Massage – Light to moderate pressure relaxation massage to reduce stress & tension in the entire body.

Thai Massage – Integrated movement and stretching with deep massage to enhance joint mobility and increase range of motion for the entire skeletal system; performed with client in loose, comfortable clothing.

Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage – Deep pressure massage in targeted areas to relieve pain and tension.
